Job Description
Danfoss is looking for a Finance Manager to join our Global Services Finance organization at our Ames, Iowa or Baltimore, Maryland location in the US.
 
The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the delivery for all aspects of monthly reporting, general ledger processes, validation and analysis of our $1.8 billion organization in NAM.  This leader is responsible for leading the Accounting Team to ensure objectives are set and work is properly allocated plus completed timely and accurately.  The individual is a strong leader who has a very good understanding of SAP and is adept at driving change and achieving results within a dynamic business environment.  This position interacts with internal and external business partners which requires excellent communication skills. 

 
Background & Skills
To be considered for this position, you will need the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • CPA certification required
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, internal controls, and process improvement
  • Prior experience leading and managing teams required
  • 2+ years of experience within a manufacturing business
  • Experience with multinational companies is required
  • High proficiency in SAP, Business Intelligence, Hyperion, HFM, EPM, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Fluent in English
Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Responsible for quality, integrity and alignment of accounting procedures and internal controls across the region
  • Ensure an accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end and year-end close, including the review and preparation of journal entries, inter-company transactions, reconciliations and reporting
  • Analyze financial statements and ability to explain results in detail  
  • Ensure compliance with Corporate accounting policy and procedures
  • Lead the enhancement, development, implementation and monitoring of internal controls
  • Responsible for Fixed Asset accounting and coordinating Fixed Asset audits
  • Lead and coordinate financial audits with internal and external auditors
  • Work closely with outsourced Shared Service Center
  • Work with IT and other functions on system upgrades, conversions and integrations
  • Closely partner with AR and AP teams, local business controllers, functional leaders and other business stakeholders on a variety of initiatives and objectives
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement projects
  • Lead and or participate in special projects, as assigned
  • Travel 15%
