Adult Basketball Scorekeeper

- General Information
The City of Ames Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Adult Basketball Scorekeeper. Candidates interested in this opportunity can expect to work 3-8 hours per week, Wednesday and Sunday evenings, from October 27, 2019 - March 4, 2020. There will be no games during school breaks.
Scorekeepers are directly accountable to the Recreation Manager and adjunctly accountable to the Recreation Superintendent and the Director of Parks & Recreation.

Ensure that all playing environments are safe; enforce all procedures and rules in place at all facilities/locations; direct managers to fill out score sheets; keep track of score, fouls, possession and time during the game; help with set-up as needed.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Necessary to Perform Essential Functions: Strong knowledge of the sport and rules.
Skill in being organized, dependable, reliable individual.
Ability to communicate with adults and peers effectively; ability to provide a confident and positive attitude; ability to understand, appreciate and embody the City of Ames Core Values; ability to maintain an exceptional level of safety; ability to maintain a professional appearance (staff shirt w/ appropriate athletic shorts or pants) at all times while on site; ability to maintain a professional demeanor (calm and courteous) at all times while on site.

The selection process consists of an evaluation of education and experience, interview, and completion of a criminal background check, which includes a sex offender registry check. All candidates will be notified by email of their application status.
