Summary Territory Sales & Retention Representative:

Proactively prospects, sells and maintains relationships with customers for commercial and industrial waste services within an assigned area.

REPORTS TO: Sales Manager.

FLSA Status: Exempt.

Representative Responsibilities - Territory Sales & Retention Representative:

The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The actual duties required of this position will vary.

* Identifies leads, manages prospects and acquires new, profitable permanent commercial and industrial business.
* Proactively maintains and retains existing customers. Builds long-term relationships with current and prospective customers in the assigned market area. Responds to service cancellation calls as required.
* Prepares and delivers sales presentations and follows up with key decision makers.
* Develops and maintains an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends and responds accordingly.
* Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge of the company s available services, lines of business, pricing structures, and offers additional services as appropriate to existing customers.
* Tracks information regarding all prospective customers on required format.
* Regularly meets with Sales Manager for review of weekly sales activities and prospective customers.
* Completes all required Customer Service Agreements (CSA), Prospect Management Tool (PMT) reports, and other miscellaneous reports and paperwork in a timely manner.
* Participates in company-sponsored activities as required. Attends trade shows and chamber of commerce events. Assists with collect
* ion activities as required. Completes proactive customer good will" calls as required.
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Experience, Education, Certification - Territory Sales & Retention Representative:

* Required:
* Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification and two years experience in customer contact position.

* Preferred:
* Bachelor's or associates degree.
* Sales experience.
* Waste industry experience.

Representative Machines, Tools, Euipment and/or Software used- Territory Sales & Retention Representative:

The following machines, tools, equipment and/or software are commonly, but not always, associated with the performance of this position. Actual machines, tools, equipment and/or software used will vary.

* Office equipment including, but not limited to, computer, phone, fax machine, copier and calculator.
* MS Office including Word.
* Company information application systems including Prospect Management Tool (PMT).

Environmental/Atmospheric Working Conditions - Territory Sales & Retention Representative:

The following environmental/atmospheric working conditions are commonly, but not always, associated with the performance of this position. The actual working conditions will vary.

* Office environment.
* May require travel by air and/or car up to 75% of the time..
