3M Ames is a part of the 3M Abrasive Systems Division under the umbrella of our Industrial and Transportation Business. In our Ames facility, we manufacture abrasive (sandpaper) products in thousands of different shapes and sizes, from sheets to discs. Many of the products we produce are used in the woodworking and metal working industries as well as the automotive aftermarket and home improvement industries.

The position of Supply Chain Planning Analyst in Ames, IA will function as part of a team to coordinate the manufacturing activities of a designated focus-factory, with input coming from internal/external customers, production management, product and process engineering, purchasing, production employees, and other disciplines. Responsibilities include:

* Developing production and procurement plans that meet the customers' service requirements as well as the plant's inventory goals
* Product life cycle management
* Capacity analysis
* Resource planning
* Customer service issue resolution

The position requires participation in green belt and/or black belt projects, as well as participation in Lean Manufacturing implementation.

This position requires a self-motivated individual who communicates and influences with credibility and confidence. Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required along with the ability to pay attention to detail. A proven track record as a team player is necessary. In addition, strong interpersonal and time management skills are essential.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

* Possess, or in the last year of pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited University

Minimum Qualifications:

* 1+ year of supply chain and/or logistics experience
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint
* Bachelor's degree or higher in supply chain management, operations management, materials management, and/or engineering
* Experience with or knowledge of corporate supply chain planning systems such as Rhythm Factory Planner, Supply Chain Planner, MES, FIGURES, COMS and PMCS is desirable
* APICS certification or willingness to obtain
* Experience and/or training in lean manufacturing and six sigma improvement processes
