Fill Plant Operator Ankeny, IA

Airgas, Inc., North America s largest distributor of industrial, specialty and medical gases and related equipment and safety products is seeking candidates for our Fill Plant Operator at the Ankeny IA location.

Working with safety as the top priority, the Fill Plant Operator will perform any combination of following tasks on site in making or repackaging compressed gas: Loads and unloads or assists in the loading and unloading of cylinders on vehicles using hand trucks. Examines returned cylinders for surface defects. Performs calibration check of scale accuracy at the beginning of each work shift. Performs all required pre-fill inspections on cylinders. Operate and safely maintain equipment for compressing acetylene gas into cylinders. Fill cylinders or containers to proper pressure. Perform all required post-fill inspections and tests before cylinders are released, as outlined in the Airgas SOP s.

Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to routinely lift 75 lbs. A demonstrated commitment to customer service is also a must. Knowledge of medical and specialty gases a plus. This is a safety sensitive position.
